Southeastern Virginia got quite a bit of snow this weekend! And for our customers who ventured out in Williamsburg and Newport News the last couple days were a bit of an adventure. Regardless of the vehicle you drive, the tires you ride on can make a huge difference in inclement conditions. Thankfully this much snow is rather unusual in the Williamsburg area, so winter tires are likely not the best option for most motorists in Hampton Roads.
I checked with our star service writers in the Williamsburg shop, David and Tony, for their top tire recommendations. Of course every driver’s needs are different, so be sure to discuss your driving habits with them before choosing new tires.
Their top pick for sedans is the Cooper CS4. It’s an all season touring tire that features a quiet ride and works for many small SUVs and crossover vehicles as well. Plus, it’s a great value for the money!
For truck and SUV owners, the Michelin LTX series is a great choice, though not the least expensive. It’s one of the longest lasting tires available and offers year-round traction while still having a comfortable ride.
Anytime your car gets a new set of tires, it is important to have them aligned. Establishing and maintaining wheel alignment will lengthen the life of the tires and can improve gas mileage.
