  • Charlie Marcotte – Owner

Having a business like American Pride has been a lifelong dream, although every day hasn’t been easy every day has been fun. In 1990, Charlie and his father Chuck, started working on cars from a 10′ by 20′ storage unit in Williamsburg. Many changes have taken place since that stage and today American Pride Automotive has three full service repair shops and a treasure trove of pictures documenting the changes. What Charlie is most proud of (besides American Pride’s humble beginnings) is the creation of a community outreach project called Family Service Day. Family Service Day provides auto repair, maintenance and education to single parent families and families with a deployed military member at no cost. “A business, to be of value, has a responsibility to find a social need and then do their best to meet it. At American Pride we are always searching for ways to support the communities we operate in” says Charlie.

Charlie is a devoted husband to Diane and father to three successful children – Andrew, Charlie and Allie.

  • "We are in the people business, we just happen to fix cars along the way."

    - Charlie Marcotte

  • Andrew Marcotte – General Manager (Coach)

Andrew Marcotte joined the American Pride team in December of 2017 as General Manager. After high school, Andrew went on to play football for the Virginia Military Institute from 2010-2014 where he started all 4 seasons and earned all-conference ranks in the Southern Conference then graduating with a degree in Business and Economics. Following graduation, he spent 3 years as an Outbound Operations Manager for the Target Corporation, leading a team of distribution employees. Some of Andrew’s earliest memories are with American Pride, where he often spent time as a child with his Father and Grandfather (Charlie and Chuck), and is ecstatic to join the team at APA. When not at work, he spends his time with his wife, Kourtney and their two dogs, or coaching his Alma Mater Lafayette High School football team.

  • Greg Wilson – Service Manager, Williamsburg

Greg was raised in Brown County, Indiana. Pursuing opportunity and education Greg joined the Air Force in 1980 and served honorably for 26 years retiring at the Air Forces best rank of First Sargent. In 2006 Greg joined American Pride to pursue his love of cars, quickly finding his way to management. When not greeting customers in Williamsburg Greg can be found on his property in Gloucester (horse Farm) where work never ends or on Lake Gaston water skiing with his entire family including his 90 year old mother who yes, still water skis.

  • BROCK LEWIS – Service ADVISOR, Williamsburg

BROCK LEWIS – SERVICE ADVISOR, WILLIAMSBURGBrock, with a warm smile and relaxed demeanor is quick to make his customers feel welcome. A sixth generation Mississippian, Brock is happy to now call Williamsburg home where he and his wife (Star) are raising their two daughters, Janai and Bailee. Since moving to Williamsburg in 2010, ten family members have followed and now reside here as well. When not working, and depending on the season, you can find Brock on the river fishing, in the mountains backpacking or at the beach.
  • Tony Menker – Service Manager, Toano

Tony joined American Pride in 2010 as a service writer at out Williamsburg location. When opening the Toano store in 2012, Tony was asked to manage it and the rest became history. Tony’s customers appreciate the personal relationships built over the years, it’s the feeling of being with friends that keeps them returning. Tony resides in Williamsburg where you will see him with his beautiful wife Carolyn and two children Christian and Melody. All the Menkers are very active in sports, Tony cycling, Carolyn training for triathlons, Christian playing soccer and Melody following in her mother’s footsteps, swimming.

  • Kaeley Johnson – Service ADVISOR, Toano

Kaeley, quick with a smile and sparkle in her eye will make you feel welcome when first entering our Toano store. Strange but true, Kaeley entered the automotive industry (dealership level) after studying Biology at Thomas Nelson. During her introduction stage as a receptionist she took it upon herself to study different aspects of the business and earned certifications in several disciplines including Diesel Technology J

Over the past year she has swiftly moved from the front desk, through sales and now Service Advising. Kaeley is now happiest calling American Pride home. When not working alongside Tony you will find her with her boyfriend, Brook, touring museums, dining out or with her toes in the sand at Sandbridge.

  • Kevin Sadler – Service Manager, Newport News

Kevin entered the automotive industry in 1997 and quickly achieved Master Technician levels with the Chrysler Corporation and after many years in dealerships, joined American Pride in 2010. Kevin is a true local, having grown up in Tabb and graduating from Tabb High School. Kevin now lives in Denbigh and worships in York County where he is very active in the praise and worship band playing bass guitar. In his spare time, he is also an avid golf player.

  • John Eller – Service ADVISOR, Yorktown

John entered the repair industry in 1996 specializing in SAABs (remember them) at a small, family owned shop. In 2009 he transitioned his skills (out of necessity) to Volkswagen again at another small family owned operation. John clearly prefers the personal, one on one interaction because in 2017 he joined our small family owned operation - first as a technician and then as our Service Advisor at the Yorktown store. When not at work you will find John working around his home in Gloucester with his wife, Jamie - his dog Bella, cat Sophie or ‘Rebel without a cause’ rabbit, Jackson.

  • Dan Bryant – Chief Financial Officer

American Pride is fortunate in having a “caretaker.” Dan Bryant has adopted the company as his own, and carefully manages all the behind-the-scenes details. Having met Charlie Marcotte in 2002, Dan says, “I knew I’d found the guy I wanted to work alongside for many years to come. It’s great to be proud of the company you work with.” Like all American Pride personnel, Dan has a passion for cars; he likes racing them, and works on his own “fun car” collection in his home garage.

  • Chuck Marcotte – Owner Emeritus

Fully retired, Chuck enjoys staying in touch with businesses in the car industry that have been long time supporters of American Pride. His passion for the car business remains as constant as his belief in exceptional customer service. “Cars and customers are more complex than they used to be,” Chuck says, “but the fundamentals never change. Determine the need, discover the solution and execute with integrity.” These are the principles that form the foundation for American Pride Automotive.

  • American Pride mascot, M.P. (Mighty Proud)
